KOCHI: CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday demanded the resignations of Industry Minister P K Kunhalikutty and Social Welfare Minister M K Muneer in the wake of the WikiLeaks findings. Stating that the WikiLeaks findings on Kunhalikutty having shielded NDF, an extremist organisation, was a serious issue, he told reporters here that Kunhalikutty had no moral right to continue as a minister in the background of such a serious revelation.Muneer, who was quoted by WikiLeaks as of  having said that Kunhalikutty had ‘shielded’ NDF activists to secure ‘selfish interests’, should have revealed this to responsible persons in the country and not to the US representatives, Vijayan said. It was a great lapse on the part of Muneer of not having intimated the issue to responsible persons, he said.According to the secret documents released by WikiLeaks, Muneer had revealed that NDF had been trying to infiltrate into the IUML and Kunhalikutty was supporting them.Kunhalikutty: WikiLeaks becomes Weak LeaksMalappuram: Reacting to the WikiLeaks disclosure that M K Muneer had accused him of supporting the NDF, Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty said that WikiLeaks had become ‘weak leaks‘ these days.Terming the allegations baseless, he said that Muneer had denied them earlier itself. Talking to mediapersons at the Karipur Airport on Thursday, Kunhalikutty said that he had always taken a strong stance against terrorism. He pointed out that he was fielded against NDF state secretary Majeed Faizi in Vengara constituency in the last Assembly elections.“The allegations are mocking the voters in Vengara,” he added.
