Chennai: The Press Information Bureau (PIB) is set to launch a series of Public Information Campaigns (PIC) in Tamil Nadu, highlighting flagship programmes of the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre in a phased manner from next month.
The 'Info-Expo' campaigns with a central theme -- 'Empowering India' -- is aimed at helping various government departments and organisations to fulfill their commitments towards proactive disclosure of information about their policies and programmes under the Right to Information Act, PIB said.
To begin with, six campaigns have been planned primarily in districts where the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act was being implemented.
Besides, Chennai and Madurai, where the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission has been taken up, would also be covered.
