Kolkata: External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee has clarified that there is no information on Ajmal Kasab's mother visiting India.
"I have officially clarified that there has been no official confirmation about any of his relatives coming to India to meet him," Mukherjee said.
Mukherjee had earlier said that his comment about Kasab's mother coming to India was based on a newspaper report.
Kasab - the lone surviving gunman in Mumbai terror attack on November 26 last year - is currently lodged in a high security central prison in Arthur road in Mumbai.
Commenting on a statement by Pakistani authorities that the information provided by India to them on Kasab was not sufficient, he said, "Their assessment might be that the material given to them is not sufficient. But he has been arrested and he has made a statement to the magistrate. The process of law will be followed."
“We have provided all the materials which were lying with us. If it is not sufficient then I cannot comment on that," he said.
