It is mandatory to hold the  RPDAC meetings once in six months. However, the meeting is not organised here regularly owing to administrative apathy. While the RDC concerned is the chairman of the RPDAC, local people’s representatives and officials of industries concerned are its members. In the absence RPDAC, land issues are remaining unresolved creating resentment among the oustees. Sources said people are highly restive over industries like MCL, JSPL, Bhusan Steel Limited, GMR power plant, Nalco and NTPC. According to Talcher Praja Sangh, there has been no RPDAC meeting for MCL and JSPL since 2010. Protesting this, locals have decided to stage a demo on Monday.RPDAC meeting for people affected by Power Grid Corporation of India has also not taken place leaving them in the lurch and similar is the situation for those in and around GMR and Bhusan Steel Limited. “Whenever there is an agitation, the district authorities pacify them by promising that their issues would be taken up in RPDAC meeting, but the same has not been convened for several months,” said Manas Pal, a SUCI leader. However, things are now looking up after the RDC (central) Arabind Padhee took the additional charge of north division recently.
