BANGALORE: The gruesome double murder of BBM students of Mahajana College, Mysore, was solved with the arrest of six persons by Bangalore City Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths. With this, the police have been able to establish a criminal link to the Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD).
Home Minister R Ashok in his address to the press at the DG IGP on Wednesday detailed about the arrest of the accused in the murder case and the involvement of KFD in it. The accused committed the crime to raise funds for the KFD activities, an organisation active in Kerala, Mangalore, Mysore and other districts.This has been the first time a home minister addressed the press after solving a murder case. He said that the police have recovered a Maruthi Omni car, a Santro car, one toy pistol, a gold Ganesha pendant, two button knives and six mobile phones.

It may be recalled that on June 8, Sudeendra, 21, and Vignesh, 20, the two students of Mahajana College, Mysore, residents of Hunsur town, were kidnapped. A ransom of `5 crore was demanded. Subsequently, they were taken to Chikballapur where they were murdered and their bodies were thrown on the roadside in Aaragulike.

The accused made calls from different places with more than 40 sim cards of various service providers to avoid detection.

On June 11, the victims were taken in a Santro Car to Chikkaballapur via NICE Road and strangled to death before giving them sleeping tablets and stabbing them.
