Kalyan: A woman has allegedly killed her husband and chopped his body into 11 pieces with the help of her elder brother in Kalyan near Mumbai. Police have arrested the woman, identified as Aatiya, and two others for the brutal murder. One of the arrested is the elder brother of the accused woman.

The murder came to light when some people noticed an unclaimed bag near the Shani Temple in Titwala on December 12. When the police opened the bag they found a body which had been chopped into 11 pieces. During the investigation it was found that a missing person complaint had been lodged in the Kalyan police station. When the police showed the dead man picture to the woman who had lodged the complaint, she identified it as that of the missing man.

According to Titwala police station in-charge Rajendra Naik police questioned the woman and her brother. The duo was then taken into police custody. After sustained interrogation the two admitted that they had tried to strangle the man, Mehtar, using a wire taking the help of a few others. After that they used a pillow to smother him and when the man was found to be still alive, they used some implements kept in the house to kill him.

Police say Mehtar was in the business of selling milk and Aatiya was his second wife. Aatiya was allegedly involved in an illicit relationship with Mehtar's elder brother Pervez and so she decided to kill her husband.
