The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will organise a 'Maha Garjana' (mega-roar) rally on December 22 to launch the 2014 Lok Sabha election campaign in Mumbai, an official said on Saturday.
The rally will be addressed by BJP president Rajnath Singh, Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, party's ex-chief Nitin Gadkari and party leaders Gopinath Munde, Eknath Khadse, Vinod Tawde and others.
BJP general secretary Rajiv Pratap Rudy discussed the preparations for the rally with the Maharashtra BJP office-bearers. The rally will see participation of activists from all over the state.
Rudy emphasised that it should be a model rally and set the benchmark for other public meetings, for which he urged all office-bearers to take adequate steps.
Maharashtra party chief Devendra Phadnavis said people from mofussil areas of the state were keen to attend the rally and grassroots activists were creating awareness about it.
Presenting a blueprint for the rally, city party chief Ashish Shelar said various media would be used to publicise the meeting to ensure maximum participation of the people.
The venue of the rally and other details are likely to be made available later, an office-bearer said.
