CHENNAI: The University of Mussouri and the Vision Research Foundation, the research arm of the Shankara Nethralaya, have signed an MOU for research collaboration in the field of Ophthamology and Nanotechnology.The MOU will facilitate the institutions to focus on promoting advanced research and formal training in nano medicine dealing with ophthalmic care and cancer therapy/imaging related to debilitating human conditions. Moreover, exchange of scientists for joint teaching, training programs, hosting of national and international conferences in the areas of nanotechnology, nano medicine and other related disciplines will also be the key outcome of the MOU, according to the press release.The signing of the MOU was followed -up by the setting of the Professor S. Venkateshwaran Endowment Fund at the University of Missouri to strengthen the research ties between the two institutions. In addition, a symposium on application of ‘Nanotechnology in Healthcare’ was also held to commemorate the event.
