TINDIVANAM: Two resolutions for merging Devikulam, Peermedu and Udumbancholai areas of Kerala with TN and slapping economic blockade on the State over the Mullaiperiyar Dam issue should be adopted in the special session of Tamil Nadu Assembly, said PMK founder S Ramadoss.Ramadoss told reporters near Tindivanam on Wednesday: “Tamilians dominated Devikulam, Peermedu and Udumbancholai areas but they were merged with Kerala during the demarcation of states on linguistic basis in 1956. If we would have opposed the merger that time, the problem that we have been facing today might not have arisen. In the special session of Assembly, TN government should pass a resolution for merger of these areas with our State.”He appreciated Congress MPs for demanding a referendum in Idukki district on its merger with TN, when they met Premier Manmohan Singh in New Delhi. He stressed for another resolution of slapping economic blockade against Kerala.
