Maid held for stealing

PUDUCHERRY: The Grand Bazaar police, on Saturday, arrested a maid for stealing 19.5 sovereigns of gold ornaments, worth Rs 3.5 lakh from a house in Mahatma Gandhi Street.Ramesh @ Dhandapani and his wife having entrusted their home to their maid Santhi went to a temple, on Saturday morning. On their return, they found that their cupboards were open and the gold ornaments missing.
