For over 27 years, the movie has impressed audiences at Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir theatre with uninterrupted screenings. Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol as the iconic Raj and Simran, the film has achieved cult status, redefining romance for a generation. Recently, The Academy’s official Instagram page surprised desi fans by featuring the Bollywood gem. The post showcased a clip of the nostalgic song Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna, causing an enthusiastic response from Indians worldwide. People showered the post with love, praising SRK as the greatest artist and declaring The Academy members as devoted SRK fans.
The movie not only showed the incredible chemistry of SRK and Kajol but also featured outstanding performances by talented actors including Mandira Bedi, Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal, Satish Shah, Himani Shivpuri, Parmeet Sethi and Anupam Kher.
