BANGALORE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda — who took oath in the Legislative Council on Tuesday — and state BJP president K S Eshwarappa left for Delhi late in the evening to seek advice from the party national executive on the leadership issue which is being raked up by former CM BS Yeddyurappa repeatedly. Both the leaders will meet party national president Nitin Gadkari and senior leader L K Advani besides others and apprise them about the recent developments in the state, particularly the statements made by Yeddyurappa about the leadership.Yeddyurappa had recently claimed that he was the sole leader of the party in the state and he would not accept the concept of collective leadership as suggested by Eshwarappa.Gowda and the state BJP president are also expected to demand the party leadership to clear the confusion on leadership issue in Karnataka so that there could be no confusion in the minds of party workers.“The party needs to make its stand clear on Yeddyurappa. Otherwise, it will become extremely difficult to run the government with two power centres operating,” said a senior minister. This apart, Gowda has another purpose to his visit — to resign his Parliament membership. He is expected to submit his resignation to Lok Sabha Speaker on Wednesday evening. Before that he will host a lunch for all MPs from Karnataka.
