THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An unexpected and massive dip in central power supply forced the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) to impose half-hour load-sheddings across the state on Wednesday.By afternoon, the KSEB had announced that there would be half-hour load-sheddings between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. According to a KSEB spokesperson, there was a shortage of 500 to 600 MW in the Central supply due to problems on the Talcher-Kolar transmission line bringing power to the state. KSEB officials said that supply would be back to normal by Thursday. Kerala gets roughly 900 MW at present, although the allotted share is 1,134 MW. Load-shedding could continue on Thursday also if the problem is not solved by then, sources said.
