BANGALORE: Kamala Goenka Foundation, an organisation that conducts Kannada classes for Hindi speaking people free of cost organised the annual function for students of all four batches of free Kannada classes on Sunday at Veerendra Patil Degree College Sadashivnagar. An initiative of the Kamala Goenka Foundation, the chief guest of the function was Shri Shiva Prasad, Corporator (Ward 35). The Guest of Honour was Dr Gangalakshamma, Medical Superintendent, BBMP. The Special Guests were Venugopalan, a senior Hindi Journalist, and Sandalwood actor Puneeth Rajkumar. The Managing Trustee of Kamala Goenka Foundation Shyamsunder Goenka, Veerendra Patil Degree College Principal Prof S M Sangameshwar and well known multi- linguistic teacher Shri Gnanmurthy were also present. Although the foundation is 17 years old, the initiative of carrying out free of cost Kannada classes was taken up a year ago with the aim of facilitating people from different states who come to Bangalore and find it difficult to understand the language. More than a hundred people have benefitted from it.
