Jet flight makes emergency landing
A Jet Airways flight from London to Mumbai had to make an emergency landing at the Mumbai International Airport on Sunday.

New Delhi: A Jet Airways flight from London to Mumbai made an emergency landing at the Mumbai airport on Sunday after developing an engine snag.

The emergency landing followed an engine failure. Sources have confirmed that flight 9W 118 landed safely on one engine at around 1200 hrs (IST).

The pilot informed Air Traffic Control (ATC) about the engine trouble following which full emergency was declared at the Sahar International Airport.

All of the 198 passengers onboard, four of whom were infants, are reported to be safe.

The aircraft has been temporarily grounded and is being inspected for damage. Fire brigade and ambulances were kept on stand by at the airport to meet any eventuality.

Airport officials are on an alert since the incident comes in wake of the terror plot in the UK.
