BANGALORE: Prime Minister of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, on Wednesday invited Indian companies to consider investments in his country.He was speaking to a business delegation from Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and others from business community in Bangalore.He said Slovenia saw India as a strong partner and sought Indian companies to invest in the country.He spoke about India’s relation with erstwhile Yugoslavia and said that Slovenia continued to strengthen its political and economic tie with the south-Asian country.The PM said Slovenia could not finance itself to become one of the most developed countries in the Euro zone and thus sought investments from India.Also, he said regardless of who the new Slovenian prime minister might be, investment opportunities would always be there for Indian companies. Pahor shared that a business delegation was due to be in Slovenia in September.Karnataka Minister for Large and Medium-Scale Industries, Murugesh Nirani, earlier invited Slovenia to take part in Global Investors’ Meet 2012.Nirani said Karnataka government had identified around 100 projects that would be implemented on public-private-partnership model. He said the projects were worth more than Rs 68,000 crore.Further, Nirani said the state government had already notified 83,000 acres of land for acquisition out of one lakh acre that was identified.He said the land bank was being prepared to enable interested companies set up factories.On the occasion, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Bangalore- based C S Aerotherm and Slovenia-based Gastol Gopan. The deal is worth Rs 2 crore.
