New Delhi: 19-year-old Kirsten Haglund won the Miss America 2008 pageant in Las Vegas (Nevada) on January 26. Haglund, who won a $50,000 scholarship as well as a year of travel, beat 51 other contestants to claim the title. Miss America does not compete in international pageants.
