IIM-Kozhikode kept out

The fact that Kerala government has chosen not to tap the resources of Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM-K) while doing its homework on Emerging Kerala has foxed the institute director Debashish Chatterjee no end. Ironically, while the state gets busy with ‘Emerging Kerala’, the IIM-K director will be participating in the brainstorming sessions of the ‘Global Indian Business Meet’ in New York this week.

“We could have provided knowledge support and actually coordinated something big in the education, industry and social sectors for this meet. IIM-K would definitely play a constructive role if still asked to contribute. Yes, we are surprised we were not brought on board for Emerging Kerala,” Chatterjee told Express.

Interestingly, the UDF government has been tapping IIMK ever since it came to power in 2011. A management workshop was organised for all its ministers at IIM-K last year and the state government even adopted the idea of bond-linked land acquisition programme as mooted by the IIMK.

The business school’s services were in great demand at the ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ and ‘Global Investors Meet’ held in Gujarat and Karnataka.
