Kolkata: Jubilant at his inclusion in the 30-member Indian probables list for the upcoming Champions Trophy, medium pacer S S Paul on Wednesday said his success during India A team's tour to Australia appeared to have impressed the selectors.
"I feel great. It's a dream for everyone to play in an event like Champions Trophy. I've cleared the first hurdle. Now I have to keep on performing," Paul said.
The Bengal opening bowler, who captured eight wickets in three matches during the A series in June, said "I think my performance Down Under played a role in my call-up."
Paul said he had received from pace bowling legend Richard Hadlee in Australia.
"When I told him that I was having some problem on fast wickets there, he said I should pitch the ball a trifle shorter than I was doing. I followed his advice and picked up four wickets in the next match," Paul said.
Paul, who comes from the North Bengal district of Cooch Behar, had put up a spectacular performance in the last domestic season.
