Hyderabad: 24-year-old Mothi Yadav died after falling in a trench that was dug up for construction of a manhole in Hyderabad.
The five-feet deep trench was filled with rain water hence its depth was not visible. He died on the spot.
The incident took place on Sunday night at Madhapur in Hyderabad when the deceased was headed towards home after work. A native of Jharkhand, Yadav was living at Ayyappa Society in Hyderabad since the last four months.
According to residents, he worked at a nearby hotel. Police believe the man might have got electrocuted as there were electric cables in the trench.
R Mohan Singh, superintendent engineer of the water board has confirmed that the road was dug up by for construction of sewerage manholes.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Council (GHMC) has ordered a probe into the incident.
