New Delhi: The Central Forensic Science Laboratory has confirmed traces of heroin and cocaine in the viscera report of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan’s secretary Bibek Moitra.
In the preliminary report to the Home Ministry, Delhi Police Commissioner K K Paul had suggested that Moitra had died of an overdose of cocaine at a party at Mahajan’s official residence, 7 Safdarjung Road.
Meanwhile, Mahajan's key aide Harish Sharma and his driver Ganesh, accused of destruction of evidence in the Rahul Mahajan drug abuse case were granted bail on Wednesday.
He was also the Deputy Chief de Mission of the Indian contingent to Athens Olympics 2004 and is the secretary of the Basketball Federation of India.
He was also a superintendent in Customs Services. He took VRS.
The duo was granted bail as they were charged with destruction of evidence which is a bailable offence, senior police officials said.
While Sharma was arrested in the wee hours of Wednesday, Ganesh was arrested on Tuesday evening.
