Heavy rain likely in coastal Andhra, Telangana

HYDERABAD: Heavy rain occurred in many places in coastal Andhra and Telangana regions including the twin cities on Wednesday. The MeT officials told Express that light to heavy rains were likely to hit many places in both regions in the next three days under the influence of a low pressure area likely to form over the Bay of Bengal between Kakinada and Ongole in coastal Andhra. A rainfall of 2.4mm was recorded in Hyderabad on Wednesday.“The activity of the south west monsoon is likely to end by Sept 30. The NW monsoon will become active from Oct 1 and its effect will be first witnessed in Rajasthan. In the twin cities, there will be light to moderate showers,’’ the MeT officials said.
