HYDERABAD: Justice N.Ravi shanker of the AP High Court stayed the criminal proceedings against media baron Ramoji Rao and his son in the criminal courts in Vishakapatnam. The judge made the interim order in two revision petitions filed by Ramoji Rao and his son Kiran questioning the order of the IV Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate refusing to discharge the petitioners of the offences of cheating.The petitioners were facing charges of cheating in a complaint lodged by one MAEKK Varma in the lower court. The complainant said that a land was given to the petitioners on lease but the petitioners sought to grab the land. The plea of the petitioners that they were innocent of the offence was not accepted by the lower court.Court Orders Notice on Construction of Building Justice G. Rohini on Tuesday ordered notice in a writ petition complaining that minister TG Venkatesh was planning to construct a building illegally at Budhawarapet in Kurnool.The petitioner, K.Guraviah, said Janapriya Associates had constructed about 100 shops in the city and the minister and his family had purchased 97 of them. Now they were planning to demolish the building and construct a new structure, the petitioner contended.
