HC moved to ban teachers from political posts

KOCHI: Political activities by aided school teachers should be declared unconstitutional, demanded a petition filed in the Kerala High Court on Tuesday.The petitioner, KC Usaf of Vatakara, submitted that a large number of aided school teachers were active  in party politics and some of them have been elected as members of local bodies in the state.Aided school teachers are also holding responsible posts in various political parties.  Swould influence the political thinking of the students and will affect the quality of education, the petitioner said.
