Issues like Cauvery water dispute should not be dealt with emotion, but should be handled tactfully, said Union Minister for Labour and Employment Mallikarjun Kharge.
He told reporters here on Tuesday, that such issues can not be solved by tendering resignation or by violent protests.
There is no doubt that some lapse has taken place, but it is not proper to blame one another for what has happened, he said.
Kharge pointed out that Prime Minister has not convened Cauvery River Authority (CRA) meeting on his own, but only at the insistence of a Supreme Court order.
The CRA has passed the order based on the available information at hand.
In the CRA meeting itself, Chief Minister Jagdish Shettar could have given correct picture and express Karnataka’s inability to release water, he said.
The state government should file a review petition mentioning the statistics of water available in Cauvery river in Karnataka, before the apex court at the earliest
