New Delhi: A team of Gurgaon police is being despatched to Kathmandu after the arrest of Amit Kumar, the alleged kingpin in the kidney transplant racket, which was busted in this booming suburban town last month.

A top police official said on Thursday night that the team is expected to help Nepal police in expediting the process of bringing back Amit Kumar.

The racket was unearthed on January 24 after police raided a secret operation theatre in the city.

Meanwhile, CBI Director Vijay Shanker said that they would approach Nepal authorities for deportation of Kumar.

"We will be approaching the Nepalese authorities immmediately seeking his deportation as he is wanted by Haryana police in connection with the kidney racket," Shanker said in New Delhi on Thursday night.

The Interpol had issued Red Corner notices against Amit Kumar and his brother Jeevan on February 1.

The notices were issued following a request from the CBI after Haryana Police discovered an illegal hospital at a house in Gurgaon where the transplants were carried out.

Given the reach of the racket across India and beyond its boundaries, the Haryana government ordered a CBI probe into it.

On February 5, CBI had said it was waiting for an order from Haryana government to begin probing the multi-crore rupees kidney transplant racket.

"The only thing we have received so far is a letter addressed to Department of Personnel and Training. A copy was marked to us (CBI) also," Shanker had said.

Haryana government will have to issue a notification to the DoPT which in turn would ask the CBI to examine the case.
