BANGALORE: Governor H R Bharadwaj has accepted the Lokayukta report on mining and sought Lokayukta investigation into the prima facie of the involvement of B S Yeddyurappa and the findings. Based on that he would decide whether to sanction the prosecution or not.
He told the media on Wednesday that, he carefully examined the Lokayukta report along with relevant annexures, with reference to the provisions of the Karnataka Lokayukta Act 1994 and Prevention of Corruption Act 1988, accepted the findings and recommendations of Lokayukta in chapter 22 of the report for initiating criminal proceedings against B S Yeddyurappa.In a press statement, the Governor's office said that Bharadwaj has also noted that Lokayukta may take necessary action through Lokayukta police. The decision of the competent authority has been forwarded to the registrar, Karnataka Lokayukta for placing it before the Lokayukta.
