RAJAHMUNDRY: Terming the state government policy as anti-farmer, YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy said that the government was showing step-motherly attitude to the farm communities.Addressing a gathering in Ravulapalem on Monday as part of his two-day visit to Konaseema area where farmers declared a crop holiday, the YSR congress chief said  prices of crop inputs including seeds, fertilizers and pesticides had been increased to manifold during the tenure of Kiran Kumar Reddy’s government. The Kadapa MP visited the paddy fields in K Pedapudi, Samanthakurru, Somidevarapalem, Aynapuram and interacted with the farmers. The Congress-led government in the state is diluting the farmer welfare schemes introduced by the previous governments, he alleged. Jagan recalled the farmer’s welfare schemes introduced by his father and former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and promised to work for the betterment of the farm communities.  The Congress government would face the wrath of farmers in the next Assembly elections, he said.MLAs Pilli Subashchandra Bose, Dwarampudi Chandra Sekhar Reddy, Gurunadh Reddy (Kadapa district), party district convener K Chittabbayi, central governing board member Jakkampudi Vijaya Lakshmi, party in-charge IRK Raju and others were also present.
