The state government accepted the package whose implementation requires updating the books of accounts of all the primary weaver societies and apex weaver societies which were audited on March 31, 2010. The state government will assist NABARD in implementation of the package which includes identification of the viable and potentially viable weaver societies as per the package norms and conduct of special audit exercise and also write off of the individual weaver loans as per the scheme guidelines. For implementing the package before December this year, the government constituted the State Implementation Monitoring and Review Committee (SIMRC) and District Implementation Monitoring and Review committees (DIMRC) on Saturday. The principal secretary (industries & commerce) will head the SIMRC.
