Government employees urged to obtain new e-mail login details

With the e-mail Management System (EMS) of the Government of Kerala migrating to the new email solution provided by the National Informatics Center (NIC) with effect from August 13, all government officials, presently using the official email ids, are directed to obtain their mandatory new email login details.

Instructions on this score are provided in the webpage, mail.kerala.gov.in The Email Management System (EMS) of the Government of Kerala, initiated through the Kerala State IT Mission (KSITM) in September 2008, aims at providing email ids to all government employees across the State.

It became operational in March 2009 and covers around 8,000 employees including all secretaries, private secretaries to Ministers and secretariat staff, apart from a few other government departments outside the secretariat who use the mail ids for official communication.

EMS plays a key role in the government’s mission to enhance transparency and efficacy in government functioning.  It improves efficiency and productivity of the Government, helps faster dissemination of the government communication and saves time and cost.
