Going diva hunting

After tasting success with their first local show, India’s Sexiest Bachelor, Big CBS hopes to launch another winner with India’s Glam Diva. The show sees the country’s glamorous women from film, televi-sion, fashion and sports competing for the title of Glam Diva. The show’s host VJ, actor Neil Bhoopalam (Zubin in Shaitan) gives us an insight into the show. Getting the offerIt seems the show was too hard to resist. “It didn’t sound like the run of the mill reality shows where people b****, something which I don’t watch. Besides, profiling a different personality in every episode seemed interesting,” says Bhoopalam.What to expectThe show will include opinions from experts in advertising and the film industry. Opening up on the format, Bhoopalam says, “Mind, body and soul are three segments & each profile will be broken up. It will be their personality, their views on life and how they take care of themselves.” Let’s talk favourites“For me, Glam Diva is Priyanka Chopra. When I met her I was completely floored by her. I remember her so distinctly. She was wearing jeans and a white shirt. She is so down to earth,” recalls the actor, who interviewed the star during his time at Channel V. Being the stalkerThough the shooting has just begun, Bhoopalam is already enjoying his work. “I’m getting to know these women inside out. Whether they had any tattoos, relationships, and how they entered the industry. I’m enjoying the stalking part of it very much,” confesses the actor who will be seen in a play by Girish Karnad.The VJ advantage“When you have a room full of people and a camera in front of you, and you don’t know whether some things will work out or not... being a VJ makes it a little easy as you have the presence of mind to handle such things,” feels Bhoopalam.India’s Glam Diva is scheduled to premier on BIG CBS Love soon.
