Global NRK Meet 2011

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Capital City will play host to a two-day Global NRK Meet 2011. The event will be held at the Mascot Hotel here from December 29.  Representatives of Non-Resident Keralites from the country and abroad will participate in the event, said Rural Development-Cultural Affairs Minister K C Joseph here on Tuesday. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the meet on Thursday at 11.30 am. Sharing of problems and expectations of NRKs and energising welfare projects such as ‘Santhwana,’ ‘Chairman Fund’ and ‘Karunyam,’ apart from facilitating investment in the state are the objectives of the meet. Currently, Kerala is estimated to be receiving an average of `49,695 crore every year from NRKs as remittances.
