HYDERABAD: In a massive demolition drive against illegal encroachments that have come up on the dumping yard, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Rangareddy District Revenue officials have demolished the structures on Tuesday.As many as 600 to 700 structures have come up on the Jawaharnagar dumping yard in Keesara mandal on the city outskirts.Though there was a stiff resistance against razing of the structures from the hutdwellers, who threatened to immolate themselves, the alert police foiled their attempts. These temporary structures have come up with the active support of the local political leaders and land sharks.These illegal structures have come up in about 11 acres in survey Numbers 210 and 211 in Jawaharnagar area.
