He blamed some CAB members for creating problems for his family.

Kolkata: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly threatened to stop playing for Bengal if some Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) members continue to create problems for his family members.

"Some CAB members are creating problems for my family and if these continue I may consider stopping to play for Bengal," Ganguly said in Kolkata on Thursday.

Ganguly denied any fall-out with former CAB and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief Jagmohan Dalmiya, who is contesting for the CAB presidentship this time.

"I don't have any problem with Dalmiya. My only concern is the problem to my family because of some CAB members," he said.

The elegant left hander, who could not find a place in the Champions Trophy probables, also reckoned that India's One-Day International captain MS Dhoni must have "felt fatigued" after playing non-stop cricket for the past year.

Ganguly described Dhoni's decision to skip the Sri Lanka tour later this month citing exhaustion as his "personal decision" which should be respected.

"It is absolutely upto him (Dhoni) how much he wants to play. It is his personal decision (to take rest) and we have to respect that. He must have felt fatigued after playing so much cricket for the past one year," he said.

Ganguly, who collected his Castrol Best Asian Cricketer of the Year award in Kolkata on Thursday after missing the event in Karachi, said Indian frontline batsmen will be able to negotiate Sri Lankan mystery bowler Ajantha Mendis during their tour to the island nation later this month.

"He (Ajantha Mendis) did very well in the Asia Cup. He single handedly won the final but I feel we will be able to negotiate him once we get used to playing him. Once we start playing him we will be able to pick him," he said.
