New Delhi: Converting a hugely successful film into 3D is not always a safe game, simply because of the fact that technology changes with each passing point. The original ‘Finding Nemo’ was released in 2003, and now after 9 years the makers have come up with a 3D version of the film.
Written and directed by Andrew Stanton, the film was a breathtaking tale of an abducted fish Nemo (Alexander Gould) and his father Marlin (Albert Brooks). The story featured the relationship of an overprotected child and his non risk taking father who develop their respective philosophies towards life in Sydney Harbour.
The film was released by Walt Disney Pictures and produced by Pixar Animation Studious. The critics as well as the movie enthusiasts took the film pretty seriously and gave it a positive response. It became the second highest grossing film of 2003 after ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King’. Later, the film’s DVD also featured among best-selling DVDs of all time.
The basic premise of the story is set in the hypothetical world of two fish named Marlin and Coral. One fine day, when the duo is hatching their eggs, a deadly barracuda attacks them and kills Coral. Marlin tries to defend his family but the barracuda overpowers him. Marlin survives the attack along with one egg that later evolves into a lovable fish Nemo.
From hereon, ‘Finding Nemo’ showcases how Darwin’s theory of ‘survival of the fittest’ works inside the sea.
‘Finding Nemo’ is not going to offer anything new in terms of story and presentation, therefore the makers will stress on the 3D stylization. The level of 3D has really gone high in recent times. Filmmakers such as Steven Spielberg and Andrew Adamson have raised the standard and thus the audiences would be hoping for brilliant 3D effects in ‘Finding Nemo 3D’. The film’s box office performance is going to suffer in absence of good effects.
