Veteran freedom fighter Paras Nath Singh died at the age of 101 following protracted illness in Jaunpur on Saturday.
Singh breathed his last at his native Keshvpur Rajepur village in Jalapur area, family members said. A follower of Mahatma Gandhi, he took an active part in India's freedom struggle and was imprisoned several times. Singh was cremated with full state honours in Varanasi in the evening, the family members said.
