Telugu Actress Sowmya Janu Manhandles Policeman, Hurls Abuses and Rips His Clothes; Video Goes Viral

Telugu actress Sowmya Janu has come under fire after she was seen assaulting a traffic police officer in Hyderabad. A video of the same has now gone viral. It has been reported that the official on duty had stopped her for taking the wrong route. In a video surfaced on X, previously known as Twitter, Sowmya was seen hurling abuses at the police official and tore his clothes.

The incident is said to have taken place on Saturday night, February 24, in Banjara Hills. Sowmya happened to be driving a Jaguar and was on the wrong side of the road. The traffic police officer stopped her. The actress lost her cool and manhandled him.

As per a DNA India report, bystanders tried to intervene but it did not help calm her down. Instead, the situation allegedly escalated and she physically attacked the official. The report also claimed Sowmya tore his clothes and confiscated his phone. The video was shared on X by several users. She has been booked under 353 IPC and sec 184 MVA.

Sowmya Janu is yet to comment on the incident. Meanwhile, several social media users are demanding strict actions against the actress.
