BANGALORE: Friends, relatives and colleagues of loco pilot Suresh Kumar Sugavashi have mourned his death in an accident at an unmanned level crossing near Kannamangala on Monday. Kumar’s colleagues recalled him as an honest and cheerful member of the team, who was caring towards everyone around him.“Kumar and I had joined the Southern Railways at the same time in 1997.We had also studied together. He was the youngest and the most dynamic person of our batch. His friendly nature made him everyone’s favourite batchmate,” said Muttukumar, a loco pilot and Suresh Kumar’s friend.Another friend Sudarshan recalled that Kumar was very humble. “Shivalingaiah, one of our colleagues, was suffering from cancer. During his tough days, Kumar had gone out of his way to help him. I remember, Kumar treating Shivalingaiah like he was his own brother. We miss that concern and love he showed towards humanity,” Sudarshan said.“Kumar was like my brother and I had seen him grow from scratch. His parents were vegetable vendors and had gone through a lot of difficulties to educate him.He was very loving towards loved them. He gave his best at the job and was focussed on becoming the best of the lot,” said Surya Prakash, Kumar’s batchmate, in an emotional tone.
