An electricity officer was on Wednesday arrested on graft charge by the vigilance sleuths in Bihar's Saharsa district, an official said.

An electricity officer was on Wednesday arrested on graft charge by the vigilance sleuths in Bihar's Saharsa district, an official said.

Acting on a complaint, a vigilance team laid a trap and caught the electricity sub-divisional officer Chandan Kumar red-handed as he took bribe of Rs 20,000 from a consumer for power connection, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramjivan Singh said.

Kumar had demanded the bribe from a consumer, a native of Shahpur village for providing power connection, Singh, who led a vigilance team in arresting the tainted electricity official, said.
