Verandah, the Park Hyderabad’s all day dining restaurant, is a popular eat out — being a multicuisine restaurant, their menu usually had something for everyone. And the fact that Kismet, the Park’s discotheque, is one of the city’s most popular nightspots, has only served to increase the restaurant popularity. From quick bites like burgers and pancakes to more elaborate entrees like their Greek Style Aubergine Moussaka or Tenderloin Fillet Steak with Truffled Mushrooms, Verandah has always served a good combination of gourmet cooking and comfort eats. But now that they’ve had over a year’s experience of serving the city’s gourmands, they’ve used that experience to take the restaurant’s menu one step up the perfection ladder. “It has been over a year since we’ve launched Verandah. We have learnt a lot more about what works --- what our clients want from us. It was about time that we tweaked our menu to better suit the local palate, and that of our guests from out of town,” said Madhu Joshi, the director of public relations at the Park Hyderabad.“Before, even though it was a multicuisine restaurant, Verandah’s focus was on authentic Hyderabadi cuisine. But after the launch of Aish, the Park’s Hyderabadi and Nizami cuisine speciality restaurant, it seemed redundant to have two restaurants serving similar food. Now, in Verandah, the focus is one North Indian and Oriental cuisine,” added Joshi.“The menu at verandah has always been an amalgamation of modern European, Oriental and Indian cuisine. While we have retained the all time favourites of our customers like the inimitable thin crust pizzas, handmade pastas and signatures like the go green salad and the special mutton preparation ‘nattan boltaan’ — there’s also the interesting addition of Asian wok cuisine, a fresh selection of soups, kebabs and fabulous desserts — bringing in the all time iconic hit — the warm chocolate mud cake,” said Mandaar Sukhtankar, executive chef at the Park Hyderabad. On the price front Verandah might seem a bit pricey, but in its bracket, it’s quite reasonable. A meal for two would set by back by approximately Rs 2500.
