DVS expects favourable SC verdict

BANGALORE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda on Wednesday said that, “We expect the Supreme Court to give a favourable verdict on iron ore mining as the iron and steel projects that are already sanctioned in the state will generate jobs, besides attracting investments.At a conference organised as a prelude to the inauguration of 8 million tonne per annum XINDIA Steels Koppal plant on Thursday, Sadananda Gowda said, as the state already has a mining policy it does not need a new mining policy.However, the policy can be altered if necessary after the Supreme Court’s verdict on mining in the state.XINDIA is a first of its kind joint venture between Indian Business houses and Chinese and American companies.
