Dubai sex racket case: Crime Branch to issue lookout notice

The Crime Branch team investigating the Dubai sex racket case, that had several women  trafficked from different states of the country, including Kerala, has decided to issue a lookout notice against the kingpins of the racket.

“A lookout notice will be issued soon against the kingpins. The officials in all airports and sea ports of the country will be alerted in order to corner the criminals,” the sources told Express.

A lookout notice will be issued against Leena alias Aswathy, from Wadakancherry, and Basheer from Kodungallur, the Crime Branch officials said. “The procedure for deporting the accused   from Dubai with the assistance of the Interpol is in its initial stage. We will release a lookout notice in a short while to alert the airport officials across the country so that the accused may be arrested if they make an attempt to come back to the country,” the officials said.

Express had reported that the accused had trafficked more than 100 women from different parts of the country and foreign countries in last few years. The key accused, Leena, was also suspected to be involved in a passport case in Thrissur. The Crime Branch has started obtaining statements from the different victims of the  racket. “We could trace around 15 women from different parts of Central and South India who were victims of the racket. Complaints, including cases of human trafficking, immoral activities and producing fake passports, have been registered against the kingpins,” the official said.

The trafficking came to light when the Immigration Department at Mumbai Airport had found a girl, native of Kazhakkuttam, returning from Dubai using a fake passport a few months ago.
