HYDERABAD: As a youngster, Dr Naresh Reddy participated in various shooting competitions and went on to become a professional shooter. But he would never had imagined that his expertise in handling weapons would one day lead him to shoot dead a thief!Naresh Reddy, a dentist, shot dead one of the two thieves who broke into his house on Saturday and tried to attack him. He opened fire with his 12 bore gun, a weapon specially designed for use as a security weapon. The 45-year-old dentist is an expert in gun shooting and he participated in various shooting competitions held in the city and other parts in the country. “He is a professional shooter and participated in various shooting competitions. Shooting was his hobby since his college days. Reddy's timely action helped him save his life from the thieves,” said Dharmesh Reddy, a relative of of Naresh Reddy. Dharmesh Reddy said Naresh Reddy stays alone in the duplex house after his wife died a few years ago while watchman Lakshman's family stays in the ground floor. “Reddy initially opened fire in the air to scare away the robbers but when the duo tried to attack him with stones, Reddy opened fire at them,” he added.
