However, the kidnap saga met with a tragic end when the abductors murdered them and threw their bodies in Chikkaballapur. The accused, who are in the custody of CCB sleuths, told the investigation officers that after killing Sudhindra and Vighnesh and dumping their bodies, they went to the airport to use the public toilet to wash the blood stains off their face and hands and to clean up their bloodstained clothes. An officer in the investigation team said that the accused revealed that the abducted students were kept in Mohammad Kousar's house at Rajeevnagar in Mysore till June 11, from the day they were kidnapped on June 8.Three days prior to the kidnap, Kousar had sent his wife and children to his village in Kerala stating that his friends, who were lovers, were coming from Kerala and would be staying at the house for a few days.In an attempt to confuse the police, one of the abductors made a ransom call from Kengeri and another made a call from Krishnagiri, while the students were kept in Mysore.Kousar also threatened Sudhindra and forced him to write a letter, which was delivered to Sudhindra's father through a KSRTC bus driver from Madikeri. They also revealed that they were desperate when they did not receive the ransom and decided to murder the victims. The students were given sedatives mixed with softdrinks. They were murdered on June 12 when they were still unconscious.
