Bhubaneshwar: A cardiologist of a private medical college described the report of a medical board on Budhia as quite premature.
The doctor’s statement intensified the controversy surrounding Budhia Sing’s marathon exploits.
The report of the government-constituted medical board, which examined the boy on May five, felt that Budhia should not be subjected to long distance running.
After which, Budhia's coach and mentor Biranchi Das took him to Hi-tech Medical College on Tuesday morning, where he was examined for two and half hours.
In his report, Dr P K Pradhan, professor and head of department of cardiology of the medical college, described the findings of the medical board as quite premature and not scientific.
"Budhia had suffered from heat and exhaustion during his 65 km run from Puri to Bhubaneswar on May 2, and nothing else," Pradhan added.
He also said there was no evidence of any impending renal or cardiac involvement at present as the report suggested.
"After running for 65 km, Budhia’s parameters are all right and he is conditioned to take up long distance running," he added.
"This proves my contention that Budhia is hale and hearty and is fit to run. A conspiracy is on against the boy," Budhia’s coach cum mentor Biranchi Das said.
