SRIRANGAM (TN): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today charged the previous DMK regime with leaving the overall administration in a "disarray" and said that it was a "big challenge" to bring it back on track."It is about a month since we took over. I was shocked to see that the overall administration in the state has been left in a disarray by the DMK government," she said launching Rs 190 crore worth welfare projects in her native constituency."We are bringing back everything on track, department by department which is a big challenge to do," she said.On her first visit to the constituency after sweeping to power with a massive mandate, the 63-year-old leader said she couldn't come earlier though she wanted to, due to official engagements including Assembly session and her Delhi visit.Jayalalithaa, who had charged DMK with bribing voters for securing votes during elections, said the people had upheld democracy against those who had tried to fix a value for their votes."You proved your value and that your votes were invaluable. You defeated money power and shattered dreams of those who thought they could sail through using money power," she said.Saying that her government placed high priority on welfare schemes that benefited people, Jayalalithaa alleged DMK's initiatives were basically flawed which only benefited them and not the people."The free rice scheme is something which assures food security which has become a right of people," she said. The free laptop scheme, which will be launched on September 15 the birth anniversary of CN Annadurai (DMK founder and former Chief Minister), will target nine lakh students in schools and colleges, she said. This scheme was part of the Human Resources development initiatives, she said.AIADMK government focussed on inclusive development as mere industrialisation and infrastructure projects would not usher in overall development, she said.
