KEONJHAR: Yet another woman Maoist Jayanti Mahanta alias Seema of Galda village under Telkoi police limits in Keonjhar district surrendered before district SP Ashis Singh on Tuesday. The reason cited is sexual exploitation.Working for the Kalinga Nagar Divisional Committee, Seema (18) was a close associate of secretary of the division, Sushil and a member of special action team. She had undergone special training in Andhra Pradesh on the use of improvised explosive device (IED) after joining the organisation in 2008.It is learnt that endeavour of the Special Intelligence Wing saw her being rescued by her elder sister. She was involved in the murder of Salku Hembram at Salkudihi besides attack on Simlipal Forest Beat House and many more.She attributed her surrender to sexual exploitation and abuse besides harassment by Sushil. Convinced that the Maoists had deviated from their ideology, Seema decided to surrender.
