New Delhi: Delhi reported its first swine flu death on Thursday with doctors confirming that a 38-year-old woman died due to H1N1 Influenza A virus (swine flu) at the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital on Wednesday night.
The National Capital reported its second death due to swine flu when a 31-year-old man Samrat Pandaya of Gurgaon died at RML Hospital on Thursday morning.
The woman had just returned from Singapore and was admitted on Wednesday. She was immediately put on ventilator as she had a history of acute respiratory distress and bi-lateral pneumonia.
She had also travelled from Singapore on August 16.
"A 31-year-old youth from Gurgaon died this morning. A woman who had come from Model town expired last night," said RML Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr NK Chaturvedi confirming two swine flu death in Delhi.
With two more deaths, the toll in the country has risen to 32. Maharashtra is the worst-affected state with 15 death reported so far.
