New Delhi: Cola giant Pepsi has roped in Bollywood's hottest sensations and emerging young faces – Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone as its brand ambassadors.

The duo will now be seen with Shah Rukh Khan in Pepsi's first campaign of 2008.

Pepsi’s brand ambassadors have consistently personified the drink’s youthful image with most of them being the hottest new stars of the time, whether it was Aishwarya Rai, John Abraham or leading cricketers like Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa, Sreesanth and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

"The inherent qualities of Pepsi – the youthful spirit, irreverence and competitive streak, hold the key while signing on a brand ambassador,” explained Pepsi’s Executive Vice President (Marketing) Sandeep Singh Arora.

Rumours had been buzzing over the alleged relationship between Ranbir and Deepika, whose debut films – Saawariya and Om Shanti Om - were pitted against each other’s films even before they were released in November last year.

The two are now reportedly friends, after a period of time when they were noticeably cool towards each other, and have claimed that they had a good time while shooting the ad.

“It was fun working together with Ranbir and Shah Rukh Khan in the new Pepsi ad,” said Deepika Padukone, a sentiment that was echoed by her fellow ambassador, Ranbir Kapoor.

“It’s been great working with SRK and Deepika,” he said.
