Dasara crowd may miss airshow this year

MYSORE: It is learnt from the sources that Indian Air Force has come out with a policy which stops air shows from being held at regional festivals, this year onwards. However, the district administration and authorities into Dasara event are working to get back airshow or alternative events.The Airshow used to be  held at Bannimantap stadium, in which many fighter jets, helicopters and thrilled the spectators with diving along with tricolor flags and parachutes. The tourists and Dasara crowd, who enjoyed the Airshow and bike show from Defence personnel during the world famous Dasara festivities will be missing them during this Navarathri festival, that will start from September 28.The district administration had held talks with authorities concerned to introduce Airshow for the Dasara festivities. The then Congress government and the top officials, who wanted to promote Dasara festival and tourism, added up many events like Yoga Dasara, heritage walk, cycling , karate competitions, Mane Mane Dasara, flower show and other events that attracted the crowd.  Sources said that there are plans of introducing few adventurous sports to entertain the crowd.
